INSURANCE
 (public liability and professional indemnity)

OAMPS Insurance Brokers (www.oamps.com.au) have approved TRE as a modality for public liability and professional indemnity insurance, (both for certified TRE practitioners as well as trainees) however require therapists or trainees to be a member of a professional association.

If you are not already a member of a professional association, TRE is now an approved modality by the International Institute of Complimentary Therapies (www.iict.com.au ) with a range of membership options available from full through to student membership and an existing code of ethics(http://www.iict.com.au/constitution.htm#code   )

INSURANCE OPTIONS:

If you are already insured by OAMPS for another modality:

  • You can have TRE added as an extension to your existing policy if you are insured by someone other than OAMPS for another modality
  • You can apply to your current insurer to have your existing policy extended to include TRE
  • You can transfer your policy to OAMPS to include your existing modality and TRE
  • You can maintain your current policy and apply for a separate policy with OAMPS for TRE.

If you do not currently have professional insurance:

Become a member of the IICT under the TRE modality
Apply to OAMPS for insurance for TRE using your IICT membership.

Student Insurance:

If you have an existing policy with OAMPS for another modality you can
have
your policy extended to cover your TRE training

If you don’t have existing policy with OAMPS you can take out specific TRE student insurance as long as you are a member of an existing assocation (this option is more expensive as you are not yet certified)

NOTE: it is the responsibility of the individual trainee or certified TRE practitioner to ensure you have adequate and appropriate professional indemnity and public liability insurance.

NOTE: OAMPS insurance requires a health form /exercise consent to be completed for each client – see p 21 of policy wording.
